Fundamental principals 

Hallands Auktionsverk AB, corporate identity number 556615-6039, Nässjögatan 6, 302 48 Halmstad (hereinafter "HA")  is subject to the provisions of the EU's new data protection regulation and is responsible for personal data collected and processed about you as a customer. HA undertakes to respect and protect your personal data and your personal privacy in accordance with applicable law, industry rules, and other relevant standards.

HA attaches great importance to the protection of the personal integrity of submitters, bidders, buyers, and other persons who visit or otherwise have contact with HA, regardless of whether this is done on the internet or during a personal visit, or in another way. Personal data and other data collected are generally treated as strictly confidential in accordance with what is stated in this policy. What is prescribed in this data protection policy applies in addition to what is prescribed in HA's purchase terms and conditions of sale. These are available at hallandsauktionsverk.se. By visiting HA's website or showrooms or if you use HA's services in any other way, you accept what is stipulated in HA's data protection policy and HA's processing of your personal data. HA's data protection policy does not apply to other websites, even if there are links to such on HA's website. What is personal data? 

Personal data is information about personal or factual circumstances that relate to or can be traced to a specific person, such as information about name, postal address, e-mail address, etc.

Collection and processing of personal data

For those who visit HA's website, HA saves by default the IP address that the visitor has been assigned, from which website the visit takes place, as well as the time and duration of the visit and all information in connection with submitting bids. In addition, information is saved on how the customer electronically otherwise interacts with HA and on how HA's website is used. In addition to the individual himself, personal information regarding name, address, and other contact information may be obtained from publicly available sources. Regarding the person who registers as a bidder, credit information may also be obtained in accordance with current legislation. If there are special reasons, other personal data may also be obtained from external sources.

In order for HA to be able to fulfill its legal obligation in accordance with the Act on Trade in Second-Hand Goods (1999: 271), information is collected about your social security number or date of birth, as well as verifying information (such as a copy of identity document) when you submit an item for sale.

The personal information and bank account information you provide to us in connection with the sale of goods are stored in accordance with the Accounting Act (1999: 1078), and for us to be able to make payment to your bank account after a completed sale.

HA cooperates with police authorities within Sweden and the EU, and may if legally required by us, provide information to relevant authorities.

Use and transmission of personal data

HA uses personal data provided and otherwise collected by the individual to the extent required for technical administration and development of HA's website, administration of bidding at auctions, handling of other customer-related matters, statistics and customer analyses and other own surveys, statutory provision of information and the performance of other tasks of general interest. For those who do not explicitly forbid this, personal and otherwise collected personal data is also used to inform about HA's services.

Cookies 

Cookies are small files that are stored on the visitor's hard drive. They facilitate navigation on HA's website and increase user-friendliness. HA uses cookies to take advantage of visitors' preferences and to design HA's website in an optimal way. HA also uses cookies to find out if the visitor has previously visited HA's website. Only the cookie that has been saved on the visitor's computer (etc.) is identified. Anyone who wishes to visit HA's website can do so even without cookies. Secrecy 

HA treats submitted and collected personal data in strict confidence with the exceptions set out below. Such personal information is not provided to any authority or to any individual company or to any individual person unless it is required to fulfill HA's contractual obligations in relation to HA's customers. In other respects, only personal data is disclosed to the extent prescribed by law. Information may also, after a balance of interests in each individual case, be disclosed in order to fulfill tasks of general interest. In these cases, information is provided only to the extent required in the individual case to meet the stated purpose. In addition, HA may disclose personal data in the event that HA engages outside service providers who perform assignments on behalf of HA. A prerequisite is that these have a data protection policy that at least corresponds to this data protection policy with regard to the protection of personal data. HA never discloses any personal information to third parties for marketing, unless the individual concerned has expressly approved such disclosure. All employees at and at HA as well as the contractors that HA hires for the handling of personal data have been informed of the confidentiality and have agreed in writing to follow this.

How long is personal data stored?

Personal data is stored for as long as required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. If the individual concerned so requests, collected personal data is destroyed immediately unless HA must save the data in order to fulfill concluded agreements, fulfill a statutory disclosure obligation or the data must otherwise be saved by law or for HA to be able to perform a task of public interest. In such cases, the information is stored for as long as possible and to the extent required for the agreements to be fulfilled or prescribed information to be provided or the information must for other reasons be saved by law (normally this means that the data must be stored for ten years) or must be saved for that data of general interest can be fulfilled (in such cases the data can be stored for more than ten years). Information of general interest is primarily aimed at information concerning cultural-historical documentation, cultural-historical provenance information, and information that may be relevant to the investigation of crime. Anyone who has provided such information to HA agrees that the information is saved for specified purposes.

Where is the personal data stored?

Personal data provided and otherwise collected is stored in Sweden and/or another country within the EU, EEA, or the United Kingdom. Names and email addresses, but no other personal information, may also be stored in the United States to the extent required for mailing newsletters and invitations. By agreement, such cases have stipulated that the same data protection shall be applied as applies in accordance with the EU Data Protection Regulation.

Right to information, complaints

Anyone who wishes to receive information about or correction of their own personal data processed by HA or that provided personal data should not be used for marketing purposes has the right to request this free of charge in writing from HA at the following address:

Anyone who has questions about HA's handling of personal data or is dissatisfied with this handling can also contact HA at the address just entered. Anyone who is also subsequently dissatisfied with HA's processing of personal data can submit a complaint to Datainspektionen (www.datainspektionen.se), which is the Swedish supervisory authority regarding the EU Data Protection Regulation. Anyone who is dissatisfied can also turn to the supervisory authority in the country where he or she lives or works.
